Blessing Nwachukwu - Coordinator
Blessing is a Nigerian born in Lagos, and lived all her life in Nigeria before relocating for school in Ukraine and then finally to the United States. She has had her fair share of experience of life on the other side with her parent's transfer to a remote village. The most remarkable thing about shuffling in between locations for her was experiencing the struggle of living in both worlds. Where children were in need of food, parents unexposed and in need of money to make ends meet and the environment were totally unfit to promote health. Had her basic education and high school in Nigeria, and complemented college out of the country.
In the course of life journey, she understood how the environment plays a great role in the outcome of an individual's health. Presently, she works as a Hospital Safety Officer and a Registered Bsc. Nurse, while completing a Masters degree in Public Health with a concentration in Environmental and Occupational Health Science (MPH). Certified in Hospital Incident Command Response and looking forward to be a licensed safety officer before the end of 2017. Currently, she is the coordinator of the Adegrange Child Foundation, with the goal and desire to see that they achieve their set aside vision and goals towards the betterment of the lives of children, mothers and youths of the society. She believes solely in this quote that says "little drops of water make a mighty ocean." No effort is a waste; we cannot change the world in one day, with one program, with one voice but every effort counts towards effecting and realizing the goal we set out to achieve.
With a career choice based on personal experiences, she has been involved in the community, starting from promoting education in the Ibeshe community, organizing extracurricular programs that enlighten the minds of the children to match up the exposures accessed by children who live in the city. She has partnered with organizations to achieve their goals for different programs. She sees her parents as her mentors, who have actively contributed their quota to the community by sponsoring children to access education on scholarships with the vision of educating every child that needs education. Her life course has reflected how each stage of her life connects to the vision and goal of giving a voice to the voiceless. One goal she desires to see come to full effect as time goes on.
